Happy Fall!! It’s a wonderful time to enjoy cycling on some of our beautiful Hunterdon County roads and trails. Check out the beginning colors on the Delaware Canal towpath and enjoy sipping coffee, cider, or hot chocolate or tasting some delicious food at any of the local eateries along the trail as well (in Stockton, Lambertville, New Hope, Center Bridge, Lumberville, and Frenchtown to name a few). The Columbia Trail between High Bridge and Long Valley offers some of the same!
If you are feeling adventuresome…we recently traveled on the northern part of the Skuykill Trail. This trail runs from Philadelphia 20+miles to the Valley Forge area which we enjoyed on this trip. We have ridden on the Phildelphia section previously. This trail is paved and has maps and signs along the trail.
Visit the Rails to Trails website (www.railstotrails.org) for even more information on these and other trails. You will have to sign up for free to explore, but it’s well worth the time.
Our daughter, son-in-law and 1 year old grandson recently rode the canal towpath using their Thule trailer and had a wonderful time. Come in and check out the many ways to enjoy cycling with the family including trailers, pedal behinds, hybrids, and easy step through frames (for those who may have trouble with mobility).
