Great Rides: Conwego Recreational Trailby Zen Marketing Inc., July 31, 2014
Are you one of those people (or families) who work their vacations around their cycling? Dan and Patty of Pete’s Bike and Fitness Shoppe always enjoy getting to know some new spots and will share them with you as they visit! Our newest addition to our list of great Rides: the Conwego Recreational Trail. Recently, they had the chance to ride on a “Rails to Trails” bike path in Elizabethtown, PA, which is only 15 minutes from Hershey and Hershey Park. Hershey seems to be a favorite “go to” place for Dan and Patty when they want a quick “getaway”, more so when they are able to pair it with a fun route to cycle. Especially fun was the the Conwego Recreation Trail that runs into the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail. For maps and more information, check out lvrailtrail.com/maps.htm for printable maps, which also include access and parking info. There is also a very nice bike/snack shop right on the trail just outside of Elizabethtown, Rails to Trail Bike Shop. A trailhead with parking is near the bike shop. From there, we suggest you ride north toward Lebanon, PA. We rode the trail during the week and it was very quiet. We do understand that it can be quite busy on the weekends so be prepared for traffic. Please wear a helmet at all times!!
